Ramin Mammadov, the Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations, and Maysun Zain Al Din, the Executive Director of the Academy of International Politics of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of religious education.
According to the Report news agency, the Committee reported this.
“The meeting discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of religious education, issues of promoting dialogue between cultures and religions,” the statement said.
Mammadov talked about Azerbaijan’s initiatives to develop interreligious dialogue and cooperation on international platforms.
He provided information on the regulation of state-religious relations in Azerbaijan, ensuring freedom of religion and protecting multicultural values within the framework of the implemented state policy.
Mammadov said that there are more than 2,000 mosques, 16 churches and 7 synagogues in Azerbaijan.
It was noted that the country constantly pays attention to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, national and spiritual values, as well as the restoration and protection of religious shrines and material and cultural monuments.
Al Din, evaluating the regular financial support of religious organizations by the state as a good tradition, emphasized the importance of promoting the model of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan.
