Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “will go anywhere and do anything” that he believes is necessary to protect his country, regardless of any borders.

This was stated in an interview with The National by U.S. Special Representative Tom Barrack.

“In general, everything changed in the Middle East after October 7,” said the senior U.S. diplomat. “And Bibi Netanyahu will tell you that he doesn’t care about borders.”

Barrack responded to a question about Israel’s recent attack on the Qatari capital Doha, which targeted Hamas representatives.

“If he feels that his borders or his people are threatened, he will go anywhere and do anything, period,” Barrack said.

The United States has repeatedly stated that the Israelis did not warn the U.S. about the attack that occurred on the territory of one of Washington’s main non-NATO allies. Barrack said he disagrees “with many things” the Israelis do, but he respects them “because they say exactly what will happen.”
