Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban believes that the European Union is on the verge of collapse due to its inability to adapt to change.

This is reported by the radio and television channel RTRS.

“The EU, like the Roman Empire, is on the verge of collapse due to its inability to adapt to change,” he said, speaking in the Hungarian parliament. “I do not see the EU’s ability to renew itself, which we so desperately need. If the EU does not make a sharp turn immediately, its history will come to an end.”

Orban believes that “a rapid and dramatic collapse is unlikely, but rather it will happen gradually, as more and more EU countries will cease to follow the instructions of Brussels, just as the Roman Empire long considered that it continued to exist in its former territories, although in fact it had long ceased to exist.”

The Hungarian Prime Minister compared the EU to a malfunctioning GPS navigation – in Brussels they constantly change plans and never achieve their goals, this, according to him, applies to the sanctions policy, attitude towards illegal immigrants and the environmental agenda.
