The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom for the first eight months of 2025 demonstrated an impressive growth, exceeding 928 million dollars. According to statistical data, this is 60.9% more than during the same period last year.
However, behind the overall positive indicator lies multidirectional dynamics.
The main driver of growth was an almost fourfold surge in imports of British goods and services to Azerbaijan. From January to August, this indicator reached 688.2 million dollars. As a result, the United Kingdom’s share in Azerbaijan’s total import volume increased more than threefold — from 1.39% to 4.57%, which indicates strengthening economic ties.
At the same time, exports of Azerbaijani products to the United Kingdom during the same period decreased by 39.8%, amounting to 240.6 million dollars.
Thus, the overall growth in trade turnover was entirely provided by an increase in supplies from the United Kingdom, which led to a significant change in the trade balance in the latter’s favor.
