Relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom are reaching a new strategic level, expanding far beyond traditional energy cooperation. This assessment of the partnership between the two countries was given by Milli Majlis deputy Sevinj Fatalieva, speaking today in Baku at the first political dialogue Azerbaijan — United Kingdom.
The deputy recalled that a solid foundation for this is a powerful economic base: the United Kingdom remains the largest foreign investor in Azerbaijan’s economy, with a total investment of more than 30 billion dollars over the years of independence.
According to her, the partnership is now actively developing in such key areas as environmental protection, education, and human capital development. In addition, Baku and London are working together to address global challenges, including climate change, ensuring security and sustainable development.
London’s desire to raise the level of relations to a strategic one, in Fatalieva’s opinion, is proof that the partnership between the two countries is based on a common vision of the future and contributes not only to the security of the South Caucasus, but also to global stability.
