Vice President of the United States J.D. Vance made a harsh assessment of Russia’s military actions in Ukraine, calling them a «dead end» for Moscow. According to him, after more than three years of exhausting conflict, Russia has suffered colossal losses without achieving significant strategic successes.
During a recent interview, Vance emphasized that Moscow’s territorial gains are disproportionate to the losses incurred.
“Russians have killed many people and lost a huge number of soldiers, but if you objectively look at the map of military actions, they have minimal tangible successes to justify this war,” the vice president stated.
He noted that recent events on the front line indicate a cardinal change in the “reality on the ground”. In Vance’s opinion, the inability of Russian troops to achieve a strategic breakthrough and the intensity of mutual strikes demonstrate the limits of the Kremlin’s military power.
Referring to recent statements by President Donald Trump, the vice president confirmed the White House’s confidence in Kyiv’s growing potential. Trump had previously noted that Ukraine «is now capable of returning its territories and possibly even advancing further».
“The situation has indeed changed,” Vance summed up. — Russia no longer holds the initiative.
