In Azerbaijan, a project is actively being promoted to transform the liberated territories into a zone based on the principles of “green technologies” and energy efficiency. The key aspects of this work became the main topic of discussion at the 10th meeting of the relevant working group, which was held in Baku under the chairmanship of Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.
The minister noted that large-scale restoration and construction in the region are proceeding in parallel with the development of new strategic documents. Promoting “green technologies”, improving energy efficiency, and actively introducing renewable sources have been named as priorities. This serves as the foundation for the region’s future development.
During the meeting, experts evaluated the work already done and listened to reports on the progress of creating a “green energy zone”.
Special attention was paid to specific monitoring results on the ground. Data was presented collected in the cities of Shusha, Kalbajar and Jabrayil, in the villages of Shukurbeyli and Khorovlu in the Jabrayil region, as well as at hydroelectric power plants located in the Lachin and Kalbajar regions. Analysis of this data will allow for adjusting and accelerating further steps in project implementation.
