The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, stated that during his visit to Moscow, documents on bilateral cooperation between Iran and Russia will be signed.
As reported by Mehr, upon arrival in Moscow, Eslami referred to the statements made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on January 17, 2025, in Moscow, in which Putin emphasized that the most important area of cooperation between Iran and Russia is energy, particularly the construction of nuclear power plants.
“In this context, the construction of the second and third units of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is underway, and the attention of high-ranking officials of both countries has accelerated the implementation of this project,” said Eslami.
He added that Russia plays a certain role in Iran’s plans to develop nuclear energy, especially within the framework of the project to expand the capacity of nuclear power plants by 20,000 megawatts.
“We have bilateral agreements on this matter. During this visit, I will visit the enterprises with which contracts have been concluded, and we will consider cooperation with research institutes in the field of research and education. I hope this trip will be an important milestone in the relations between the two countries,” he noted.
