The Chief of the General Staff of the IDF, Eyal Zamir, conducted an assessment of the situation in the Gaza Strip today, September 16, together with the Commander of the Southern Command, Yaniv Assor, the Commander of the 98th Division, Guy Levy, and other commanders.

The officers were in the area of responsibility of the 98th Division in the city of Gaza.
On the morning of September 16, the command of the Israel Defense Forces confirmed reports of the transition to a new phase of the military operation “Chariots of Gideon – 2” in the Gaza Strip, the goal of which is to capture the city of Gaza and destroy militants and military infrastructure in the northern part.
