In the night of September 24, logistics facilities in Russia’s Black Sea coast were subjected to a massive attack by Ukrainian marine drones. The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine targeted strategically important oil terminals in Novorossiysk and Tuapse.

According to preliminary data, the operation has fully or partially paralyzed the work of a major oil loading complex of Transneft and the terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, located near Novorossiysk. It is through these points that Russia loads oil onto tankers. It is reported that the total export capacity of these facilities is up to 2 million barrels of crude per day.

In addition, marine drones of the GUR struck an oil loading pier of one of Russia’s largest terminals in the port of Tuapse, causing explosions and damage.

These attacks may significantly impact Russia’s capabilities to export oil through the Black Sea.
