Moscow and Washington may agree on rare earth metal mining in Alaska.
As reported by TASS, this was stated by the Russian President’s Special Representative for Relations with International Organizations for Sustainable Development Goals, Boris Titov, in an interview with the publication.
«We have historically known Alaska well. We extracted fur, timber, whale fat, and so on. But nevertheless, of course, something has changed over time. I think the question was specifically about joint mineral extraction, including rare earth metals. That’s what was discussed. But for now, this remains a matter dependent on politics. Although Trump recently mentioned it again,» he said.
«But until the main issue of lifting sanctions is resolved, most likely such cooperation will not develop,» Titov added.
