The European Union and the United States have demonstrated unity in their position on putting pressure on Russia. The new, 19th package of EU sanctions against Moscow was fully coordinated with Washington, which confirms the common Western strategy. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian in an interview with the French TV channel TF1.
The minister emphasized that this is the first major package of restrictive measures that has been coordinated with the US since Donald Trump’s return to power. This circumstance underscores the desire of both sides to develop a unified and coordinated policy.
According to Le Drian, the adoption of this large-scale sanctions package is expected in the very near future. Although the specific details and areas covered by the new restrictions have not yet been disclosed, the fact of preliminary coordination with the US administration indicates its seriousness and strategic significance.
