Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić gave a high assessment of relations with Azerbaijan, calling President Ilham Aliyev not just a strategic partner, but a true friend, which, in his words, is a great rarity in modern world politics.

In his statement, the Serbian leader emphasized the special warmth with which Azerbaijan’s head of state is regarded in Serbia, noting his popularity among the Serbian people.

Vučić pointed to the dynamic development of bilateral relations at all levels. He recalled the recent visit of the Serbian parliament chairman to Baku, which was another confirmation of the strengthening dialogue between the countries.

“We are expanding our interaction in various fields — from agriculture to military-technical cooperation,” the president stated.

The head of Serbia confirmed his firm intention to continue strengthening and improving partnership relations with Azerbaijan. “We will continue to do this, raising the level of our partnership. I send the warmest wishes to our Azerbaijani friends and my brother, President Ilham Aliyev,” Vučić concluded.
