Armenian Minister of Justice Sruhi Galyan commented on the decision to remove the image of Mount Agrydag (called Ararat in Armenia — ed.) from entry and exit stamps in the country’s passports, Armenian media report.

“How many times do you open a passport and look at the stamp to note that Ararat is there?” — she responded to journalists’ questions about why the authorities began a “campaign against Ararat”.

According to her, Agrydag is a biblical mountain for her, and when she sees it on a clear day on her way to work, the day begins well.

“We live with the idea of not forgetting our historical past, but with a view directed towards the future and reality,” the minister added.
