On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, the US President Donald Trump presented Washington’s official plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip. The initiative was announced at a meeting with leaders of key Arab and Muslim countries, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and Egypt.
Although the details of the plan have not yet been published, its main provisions have become known. The proposal is built on the formula of “peace in exchange for relinquishing power”:
- From HAMAS it is required to release all remaining Israeli hostages and completely abandon control of the sector.
- In return, a permanent ceasefire is proposed, a phased withdrawal of Israeli troops, and the introduction of Arab Security Forces in Gaza.
According to the plan, Muslim countries should finance the reconstruction of the sector.
It is reported that the American leader emphasized the urgency of ending the conflict, stating that with each day of war, Israel risks becoming increasingly isolated internationally.
