The Danish Air Force was put on high alert after reports of unidentified drones over the Baltic Sea. Fighters were urgently scrambled to assess the potential threat.
The incident began with numerous calls from worried residents of Bornholm Island to the police. People reported observing unusual flying objects in the sky.
A local police representative, Thomas Elsgaard, confirmed the military activity. According to him, fighters were seen flying over the island before changing course and returning to base.
At the moment, Danish armed forces continue to conduct intensive surveillance of the airspace. The main task is to collect information and analyze the situation to ensure the protection of the country’s sovereignty and maritime infrastructure. The command emphasizes that two F-16 fighters are always on duty in Denmark, in a state of full combat readiness and capable of taking off within minutes to intercept any target.
