Azerbaijan has established itself as a central connecting link in the Turkic world, serving as a strategic bridge for the development of regional trade and transport corridors.
Such a high assessment of the country’s role was given by Omer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), speaking at the conference “Organization of Turkic States as a Regional Player in the Era of Global Uncertainty” held in Baku.
He especially emphasized that the fundamental document of the organization — the Nakhchivan Declaration — was signed in Azerbaijan. This historical fact, according to Kocaman, symbolizes the significant contribution of the republic to the establishment and strengthening of the OTS as an influential regional player.
Looking to the future, the deputy secretary general announced the upcoming OTS heads of state summit in Gabala, scheduled for October 6-7 this year. He expressed confidence that the ideas and proposals developed at the current Baku conference will serve as a valuable contribution to the agenda and final decisions of the upcoming high-level meeting.
