The Israeli fraudster Simon Leviev, known as the “Tinder Swindler”, was detained at Batumi Airport.

According to Gazeta.Ru, this was reported by the Georgian TV channel Rustavi-2, citing the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the media, Leviev is on the international wanted list.

Simon Leviev, whose real name is Shimon Hayut, became famous as an international fraudster who deceived dozens of women around the world. He met them on the Tinder app, introduced himself as the son of a diamond magnate, and demonstrated a luxurious lifestyle – private jets, expensive hotels, designer clothes. Having gained the trust of the victims, Leviev began to persuade them to lend him large sums of money under the pretext of threats from “enemies” or temporary financial difficulties.

According to journalistic investigations, in this way he extorted millions of dollars from women.

In 2019, he was arrested in Greece with a forged passport and extradited to Israel, where he served five months for fraud and document forgery.

Despite this, after his release, Leviev continued to lead a public life and even tried to monetize his scandalous popularity.
