In 2025, the Turkish Migration Service increased the number of mobile migration points to 375, which improved the efficiency of identifying individuals illegally residing in the country.

According to Caliber.Az, citing Turkish media, the specially equipped mobile migration points allow for the prompt identification of foreign nationals and the determination of the presence or absence of a residence permit in the country.

Turkey became the first country in the world to implement such a model to combat illegal migration.

In 2024 alone, the identity of 2,465,000 foreigners was checked at 270 mobile migration points, resulting in the detention of 104,767 illegal migrants.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, last year, 4,125 operations were carried out to combat illegal migration, and more than 2,000 individuals involved in organizing channels for the illegal transportation of migrants were identified and arrested. In total, 140,000 foreigners were deported from Turkey in 2024, which is 10,000 more than in 2023.

Currently, there are Deportation Centers with a total capacity of 18,780 people operating in 25 provinces of Turkey.

The activities of the Deportation Centers under the Turkish Migration Service are in line with the standards set by the European Court of Human Rights.
